Professional roadmap and education
I was born and raised in Rēzekne. After finishing high school, I enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Latvia. After receiving my medical degree, I decided to become an ophthalmologist and entered residency.
I spent all 4 years of my residency at the RAKUS Ophthalmology Clinic, where I had the opportunity to study and work alongside the best eye doctors in Latvia. I participated in clinical courses and seminars. During residency, I gained valuable experience in treating complicated cases. Working in a large university hospital, I had the opportunity to see scars and severe pathologies for which patients were referred there from other medical institutions.
In my daily practice, I work with patients suffering from chronic eye diseases, as well as provide acute ophthalmological care in the hospital’s outpatient department. I perform eye disease diagnostics, conservative treatments, preventive examinations, and also provide emergency care.
